Coaching is a goal-oriented, action-focused process designed to help you create meaningful change in your life. Rather than treating mental health conditions, coaching focuses on where you are now, where you want to go, and the practical steps to help you get there.
At Foundations, coaching may focus on personal growth, fitness and lifestyle, relationships, career direction, confidence, accountability, life transitions, and overall performance and well-being.
What Does Coaching Look Like?
Coaching is collaborative, practical, and future-focused. Together, we'll identify your goals, recognize what's getting in the way, develop realistic strategies, and create accountability for putting those strategies into action.
Sessions may incorporate movement, lifestyle changes, mindfulness, goal setting, and performance-oriented strategies depending on your individual goals.
Coaching vs. Therapy
Therapy focuses on mental health and may include assessment and treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, and other emotional or behavioral concerns.
Coaching does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. It focuses on goals, habits, direction, accountability, personal development, and performance.
Is Coaching Right for You?
Coaching may be a good fit if you're generally functioning well but feel stuck, unmotivated, uncertain about your direction, or ready to make a change and want structure and accountability to help you move forward.
Coaching is not psychotherapy and does not establish a therapist-client relationship. When providing coaching services, I am working specifically in the role of a coach rather than as your treating psychotherapist.
